Gene's back in the 70s - 80s, Hoshi when I had my Honda, and an independent guy for a while.......I have been using Pellman's for the last 15 years or so and have NEVER had a bad experience. They are honest and authentic, employ expert mechanics, and they NEVER try to sell you anything you do not need. In fact, they will tell you about a problem which can "wait until the next oil change," etc. unless the need for immediate repair is necessary. They are respectful and courteous. Waiting for my car is usually fun, as we converse; I've known Brad and Dan forever! When I've had my vehicle taken care of at Pellman's I KNOW it's in perfect shape. Soon after we arrived in Boulder our car started steaming and heated up! We left the car at Pellmans and they shuttled us to our hotel for the reunion. When the reunion was over our car repairs were all done! They even found a belt that was about to give us more problems and replaced it! The repairs were done at a reasonable cost! • Clean shop After reading all the rave reviews on Google regarding Pellman's Automotive in Boulder, I decided to take my daughter's car there for a brake job. They were so kind, courteous, and quickly sized up the problems, even showing us the damage to one rotor, which was pretty severe. Nevertheless, they were able to resurface the rotor and saved us lots of money by doing so! They checked and offered to repair some issues that we hadn't even thought about, like the severely foggy headlight enclosures. They polished those to like new condition, rather than us paying for entirely new headlight enclosures. I could go on... In short, I would say that we were extremely satisfied with Pellman's, and I'll always go there from now on. Finally, I feel we have found an automotive repair shop with the highest level of integrity, from the receptionist (who had great knowledge) to the mechanics -- combined with a desire to truly treat people like family. Some of the final charges I received were slightly misleading - I was charged for an alignment check, but never asked or authorized a charge for this to be done. I could've told you beforehand that my truck needed a front end alignment, but was simply waiting to replace the tires before paying for an alignment. I also authorized a charge for the mechanics to replace a transfer case shaft seal, though they ultimately decided a full replacement in the future was more appropriate than the initially recommended service, and wound up essentially charging me for wiping down the transfer case. I understand these are diagnoses charges and helpful information, but money is tight for me and I would've rather spent my money on actual fixes rather than advice about what needs to be done in the future.
